Real World Golf to Real World Golf Courses

Playing golf on a computer and perfecting your swing and style is all well and good, but how do you go from playing golf on Real World Golf or any other virtual golf game to actually playing golf for real on one of the many golf courses in the world.

Maybe it´s time that you ventured out of the warmth of your living room to get some fresh air and exercise and play golf on a real course.

Wherever you live in the world you won’t be far from a golf course.

From the very first recorded game of golf in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1456 golf is now played on courses all over the world.

The top three largest markets for golf in the world are USA, Japan and the UK in that order with approximately 60% of the worlds golf courses in North America.

As we explore the game of golf, the players, golf history, its rules and regulations and the like, we shall also take a look at various golf courses in different parts of the world, what they have in common and also how very diverse they can be.

While a few countries claim the title of “The Origin of Golf” it looks like Scotland is considered to be the inventor of the modern game of golf as we know it today with the Musselburgh Links Golf Course in East Lothian, Scotland claiming the title of “The Oldest Playing Golf Course in the World”.

As we move ahead and explore some of the golf courses in the world, are you ready to give up the comfort of your living room and switch Real World Golf for Real World Golf Courses?

Well that depends on your skill level. Hopefully you haven’t formed any bad habits in your living room that you’ll carry out on to the golf course and end up slicing the ball, missing the ball altogether or end up in the bunker.

Until next time, remember, wherever you are in the world check out what golf courses are around where you live; we may just feature a course near you in a future featured article on World Golf Courses.
